Project Details

Engages Reformed Drug Addicts on Implication of Drug Abuse

  • Education about the implications of drug abuse on health and society
  • Discussion of prevention, treatment and recovery strategies
  • Sharing of personal experiences and testimonies from reformed users
  • Promotion of positive alternatives to drug use
  • Spiritual support through prayer and religious guidance

Impact

Through this initiative, PEACE SALONE has helped transform former drug addicts into ambassadors of positive change in their communities. The service users at Gondama have shown tremendous improvement in their lives and are now determined to reject drug abuse. Many have been empowered with knowledge to stay away from harmful substances like Kush, Tramadol and other drugs that have serious health implications. The first batch of rehabilitated service users is scheduled for discharge in July, ready to be reintegrated into their communities.

Future Plans

PEACE SALONE plans to continue supporting rehabilitation efforts and expand community education programs about drug abuse prevention. The organization will work to establish sustainable support systems comprising community leaders, religious institutions, and healthcare providers to ensure long-term success in combating drug abuse. They also aim to advocate for policies that fund rehabilitation and treatment centers while fighting the illicit drug trade.
